Version 1.1 of Solar Blaster: Challenge Stage has now launched! As well as some minor fixes and improvements to the code, the major part of this update is the addition of the new ‘Endless Attack’ mode, which is now selectable on the title screen by pressing the X key.

Endless Attack mode allows you to play the game with the time limit removed, and the goal is to survive as long as you can against the never-ending waves of alien invaders. The further you get the harder it becomes as the enemies will speed up and their shots will also be faster. 

Endless Attack mode has its own separate high score to the standard Challenge Stage mode and if you have already downloaded version 1.0 of the game, your high score for Challenge Stage will carry over in to the new version 1.1.

The standard Challenge Stage mode remains the core focus of the game but I hope that you all find Endless Attack mode to be a fun alternative way of playing Solar Blaster. I’ve received various feedback from players saying that they wanted to be able to play the game for longer than the usual 2 minutes, so I added the new mode as a thank you to everyone who has played and supported Solar Blaster - thank you to everyone for the great reception the game has had so far! And if you are new to Solar Blaster and are joining in from version 1.1, I hope you enjoy it and have fun going for those high scores!
